CNY: Married vs UnMarried

Happy Chinese New Year from Mr & Mrs Chew!

This is our first year as a married couple, so I felt kinda excited. I can't say the same for the husband though, who had flown off to Yogjakarta and started work on 初二... poor thing hadn't slept much these few days too. :( But he's back today!

I can't help but feel that CNY is different for singles and marrieds.

Singles: YAY GOT ANGPAO! HUAT AH!
Marrieds: OMG SO MANY ANGPAOS TO GIVE *packs APs furiously on CNY eve*

Singles: Kanna asked "Eh, when getting married ah?" or "Got boyfwen anot? Want auntie to intro?"
Marrieds: Kanna asked "Eh, when having kids ah? Must fast fast give birth..."

Singles: Happily eat tidbits and soft drinks after 拜年 with two orlengs + receive angpao!
Marrieds: *kanna attacked by kids-tsunami during 拜年* D:

Singles: Shopping happily for shitloads of new clothes, bags, underwear, etc...
Marrieds: Queuing unhappily along the Great Wall of China line to change new notes at the bank. Oh, must remember to get the free angpao packets too! Maybe can "bank-hop" to get a few designs...

Not that it's a bad thing, just a major and inevitable shift in lifestyle which makes me rather amused.

It feels like my whole CNY revolved around whether I'll have a kid by the next CNY, which I didn't mind because it's good that people are excited, lol. But someone also asked about my contraception method (in front of my parents), and I was like... o_O;; okay, super awkward moment.

Anyways, also planned a little surprise for the husband this weekend for our post-Vday celebration. Hopefully it's delightful!
